“Unfortunately, I think that not only are Cameron and Osborne two posh boys who don’t know the price of milk, but they are two arrogant posh boys who show no remorse, no contrition, and no passion to want to understand the lives of others – and that is their real crime.”
Not a Labour politician who said it but right wing Tory MP Nadine Dorries who rounded on her leader and his chancellor recently.
This comes after a bad few weeks for the Coalition and an ill-conceived budget whose devil-in-the-detail revealed a whole series of policy gaffs such as the Granny Tax, Pasty Tax, Conservatory Tax…. and of course there was the petrol shortage fiasco, not to mention the shambles over the deportation of Abu Qatada.
Osborne’s rating is sliding, with some Tories now thinking he’s now a liability. It’s also clear that Cameron is hopeless in a crisis lurching from one good news story attempt to another in the hope of out-running bad press.
